If you love fireworks as much as we do (and you must do to be here in the first place!) then maybe you’ve wondered what it’s like to work on a professional fireworks display? If you have then read on…..
Alchemy Fireworks and also Alchemy Wedding Fireworks fire in excess of a hundred professional fireworks displays every year. From smaller shows for birthdays and weddings to much larger displays for councils and event companies. Each one needs dedicated and experienced crew to help set up, fire and derig the display. Hours are often long and we have to work in all weathers. It can be physically demanding at times and is heavy, dirty work. If all that still doesn’t put you off then you may possibly be the kind of person we’re looking for!
Our crews get to work at some amazing venues such as Hampton Court Palace and Leeds Castle and have worked on events such as Madonna’s 50th Birthday and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. We work up and down the country and sometimes even abroad.
We are always on the lookout for new, keen and interested firers to help us out on the huge range of shows that we do. You don’t need any previous experience (although any that you have will definitely be put to good use!) You must be 18 or over and able to drive so that you can get to the display site or to meet the crew at HQ and travel in a van to site. You must be trustworthy and willing to learn and able to take instructions. We ask that you do a show for free to see if you like the kind of work that’s carried out and to see if we think you’re the kind of person who will make a good firer.
You will receive training on site with a view to us putting you through the industry’s BPA course. You get to use larger category 4 fireworks that usually you wouldn’t be able to handle and you get to use the latest in digital and electronic firing systems. We pay a good daily rate for a good days work and as a fully fledged firer you could be eligible for a discount on the fireworks you buy from us!
So, if that’s tempted you, what are you waiting for? Drop us a line via email to glenn@alchemyfireworks.co.uk with your name, address, date of birth and a little bit about yourself and who knows where you’ll be this time next year!
